Ch.Belgrave Haut Médoc: The Essence of True Craftsmanship
Château Belgrave is a classified Grand Cru in the Haut-Médoc, located close to the Saint-Julien boundary on deep gravel soils with layers of sand and clay. Around 60 hectares of vines are planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, complemented by smaller shares of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. After fermentation the wine ages in oak barrels, a proportion of which are new. The bouquet reveals cassis, blackberry and plum alongside cedar, graphite, tobacco and subtle toast. On the palate Château Belgrave is powerful and structured yet well balanced, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, dark-fruited, gently spicy finish – a textbook Haut-Médoc to enjoy with grilled beef, lamb or game dishes.
