Ch.Le Boscq Saint Estèphe: The essence of true craftsmanship
Château Le Boscq is a Cru Bourgeois estate on the cooler northern edge of Saint‑Estèphe with some twenty hectares of vines in a single block. Gravel and clay soils are planted with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, and the average vine age is around thirty years. Proximity to the Gironde moderates temperatures and allows for slow, even ripening. In the winery, fermentation takes place in stainless‑steel tanks, while selected lots are micro‑vinified in barrel before about twelve months of ageing in largely new French oak. The bouquet shows dark berries, graphite, herbs and a touch of citrus zest. On the palate Le Boscq is structured and vibrant, with fine but firm tannins, juicy fruit and a subtly saline finish.
