For connoisseurs: Domaine Cauhapé Jurançon moelleux Quintessence du Petit Manseng from Southwest France
Quintessence du Petit Manseng from Domaine Cauhapé is a Jurançon moelleux made from rigorously selected, very late harvested petit manseng. The vines grow on warm, stony slopes at the foot of the Pyrenees, where altitude and wind concentrate sugars and aromas. The bouquet is highly expressive, with ripe apricot, candied pineapple and citrus peel, roasted nuts, praline and hints of caramel. On the palate it is rich and creamy, offering intense sweetness finely balanced by vibrant acidity. The texture is silky and deep, revealing layers of exotic fruit, honey and subtle spice. This is a profound sweet wine to savour on its own or with blue cheeses, Foie gras and refined fruit-based desserts.
