Ch.Haut Batailley Pauillac – An experience for true connoisseurs
Château Haut-Batailley is a Fifth Growth Pauillac estate with about 41 hectares of vines rooted in deep Garonne gravel. The vineyard is planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot plus a small share of Petit Verdot, and the wine is aged for around 16 months in French oak barrels, a high proportion of them new. The bouquet offers cassis, blackcurrant and cherry with floral, herbal and toasty notes. On the palate Haut-Batailley is focused and classically built, with firm, ripe tannins, bright acidity and a long Pauillac finish marked by graphite and mineral tension.
