Conterno Fantino Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda – An experience for true connoisseurs
Barolo Castelletto Vigna Pressenda comes from a little over one hectare within the Castelletto cru in Monforte d'Alba. Nebbiolo vines rooted in lighter, sand-influenced soils on a south-east facing slope are harvested entirely by hand. After fermentation the wine ages in a combination of barriques and larger oak casks, creating both structure and refinement. The bouquet opens with dark cherry, ripe raspberry and rose petals, joined by candied orange peel, liquorice and sweet baking spices. On the palate Vigna Pressenda is powerful yet very polished, with tightly knit tannins and bright acidity. Its long, layered finish with a subtle mineral edge makes this Barolo a superb match for braised meats, truffle pasta, lamb and mature hard cheeses.
