| Eichkogel from Weingut Kollwentz is a cuvée of Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt sourced from traditional vineyards on the southern slopes of the Leithagebirge. Warm sites such as Point and Setz meet the cooler Neusatz, giving both ripeness and freshness. After a long maceration the wine matures in small oak barrels, which add structure and subtle spice. On the nose it offers dark berries, cherry, a hint of plum and delicate toasted notes. The palate is powerful, juicy and yet refined, with ripe tannins and vibrant acidity.
