Gran Vin de Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases Saint Julien – A Real Treat for True Connoisseurs
Grand Vin de Léoville du Marquis de Las Cases is the flagship wine of this famed Saint-Julien estate. The Cabernet Sauvignon-led blend comes from the walled heart of the vineyard, with deep gravel over clay soils bordering the Gironde estuary. The bouquet evokes cassis, blackberry, violet, graphite, cedar and a touch of tobacco. On the palate it is dense and powerful yet silky in texture, with fine-grained tannins and a cool, precise freshness. Ageing in a high proportion of new French oak adds structure and impressive length. A benchmark Saint-Julien, ideal with roasted beef, lamb or game birds and built for long ageing.
