The vines root deep in poor schist soils that deliver cool spice and pronounced minerality. The nose shows dark berries, black cherry, liquorice, tobacco and subtle toasted notes. On the palate Perwolff is powerful, dense and multi-layered, with firm, ripe tannins and impressive length. Despite its concentration the style remains precise, elegant and never heavy.
