Ugolforte is the Brunello di Montalcino from Tenuta San Giorgio, produced from 100% Sangiovese grown around Castelnuovo dell’Abate. The organically farmed grapes undergo a long maceration before ageing in large vats and oak casks. The bouquet shows ripe cherries and wild berries alongside rosewood, liquorice, spices and balsamic herbs. On the palate Ugolforte is juicy and full yet finely chiselled, with grainy but ripe tannins and vibrant, well integrated acidity. Mineral tones and a hint of smokiness underline the wine’s depth and freshness. The long, harmonious finish makes Ugolforte a classic partner for braised beef, lamb, game dishes and aged hard cheeses.
Thirty months in Slavonian oak give the Brunello maturity, firm structure and finely integrated spice.
