Benanti Contrada Monte Serra Etna doc rosso 2022 0,75l

Benanti Contrada Monte Serra Etna DOC Rosso originates from the terraced slopes of Contrada Monte Serra on the southeastern flank of Mount Etna, where Nerello Mascalese vines grow in deep volcanic ash. Altitude and cool breezes allow for a long ripening season and give the wine its lifted, elegant profile. The bouquet offers redcurrant, cherry and pomegranate alongside blood orange, wild herbs, smoke and a hint of graphite. On the palate it is slender yet driven, with fine, firm tannins and vibrant, salty acidity. The texture brings to mind top cool-climate Pinot Noir, while the distinctive volcanic minerality adds depth and gravitas. The long finish weaves together red fruit, spice and smoky nuances. A characterful Etna Rosso that pairs beautifully with lamb chops, braised veal, grilled meats or savoury mushroom dishes.
