Bertani
At Bertani in Grezzana, in Veneto and at the heart of Valpolicella, one of Italys great wine stories begins in 1857. Brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani founded the house near Verona, linking local varieties with a then modern, French-inspired idea of precision in viticulture and cellar work.Valpantena, Soave and Tenuta Novare in Valpolicella Classica form the historic poles. Corvina Veronese and Rondinella stand behind Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, appassimento, long fermentation and patient ageing; Garganega keeps the bright line of the Veronese landscape alive.
Bertani is not only tradition, but continuity of style. Since the first Amarone vintage in 1958, the house has treated time as part of the wine: Slavonian oak, calm maturation, archive culture and a Veneto profile that places elegance above opulence.
