M. Chapoutier La Bernardine Châteauneuf-du-Pape Rouge is the estate’s classic blend, sourced from several terroirs of rolled pebbles, sand and red clay. Grenache forms the core of the cuvée, completed by syrah and mourvèdre to bring spice, colour and structure. The bouquet shows blueberries, blackberries, plums and morello cherries, framed by vanilla, warm stones and forest floor notes. On the palate the wine is full, smooth and yet lively, with silky ripe tannins and balanced acidity. Its harmonious, persistent finish makes La Bernardine a versatile Châteauneuf-du-Pape to serve with lamb, beef, game dishes and flavourful cheese plates.
