BrandChâteau Saint Pierre
RegionEurope - France - Bordeaux - Left Bank - Medoc - St. Julien
CategoryWines - Red wine

For connoisseurs: Ch.Saint Pierre Saint Julien from St.Julien
Château Saint-Pierre is a fourth growth in Saint-Julien and one of the smaller but highly regarded estates of the appellation. Deep gravel soils planted largely with cabernet sauvignon, plus merlot and cabernet franc, give naturally powerful yet elegant wines. The bouquet shows cassis, blackberry and dark cherry with cedar, graphite, tobacco and subtle spice. On the palate the wine is full-bodied and structured, but kept in balance by fresh acidity and finely chiselled tannins. A long, slightly smoky finish underlines its classic left-bank character and makes it a superb match for beef, lamb, game and aged cheeses.
