Le Petit Ducru Beaucaillou from Saint-Julien is the refined introduction to the renowned estate, offering a seductive yet classically shaped Bordeaux style. The bouquet combines blackcurrant, plum and blackberry with violets, graphite and a hint of pencil shavings. On the palate the wine is medium to full-bodied and velvety, with ripe, powdery tannins and fresh, balanced acidity. Dark berry fruit, liquorice, cedar and subtle spice are seamlessly interwoven. The texture is smooth and well structured, leading to a long, mineral-tinged, highly drinkable finish. A characterful Saint-Julien to pour with grilled beef, lamb or hearty, slow-cooked meat dishes.

Ageing for 12 months in barrique, one third of it new oak, gives the wine structure and a subtle, refined oak frame.
