Domaine Leroy
At Domaine Leroy in Vosne-Romanée, in Burgundy, regional history meets one of winegrowing’s most uncompromising personalities. Lalou Bize-Leroy founded the domaine in 1988, though its roots reach back to Maison Leroy, established in 1868 by François Leroy. The holdings lie in some of the Côte d’Or’s most revered climats: Richebourg, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot, Chambertin, Clos de la Roche, Corton-Charlemagne and exceptional premier crus. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay are farmed biodynamically, with tiny yields and almost meditative attention to each vine.
Domaine Leroy is not a myth of abundance, but of concentration. Whole clusters, old vines, minimal intervention and uncompromising selection allow the climats to appear not as labels, but as vibrating individual presences. Here Burgundy becomes radical precision.
