Domaine Trapet Pere et Fils
At Domaine Trapet Père et Fils in Gevrey-Chambertin, in Burgundy’s Côte de Nuits, Pinot Noir carries the weight of seven generations. The Trapet family is one of the village’s historic names; after the 1993 division of Domaine Louis Trapet, Jean-Louis Trapet led the Burgundian estate forward with a renewed biodynamic consciousness. The vines stretch from village parcels in Gevrey to premier crus and grand crus such as Chambertin, Latricières-Chambertin and Chapelle-Chambertin. Limestone, marl, shallow soils and old vines call for a quiet, precise hand; the estate has been Demeter certified since 2009.
Trapet does not seek the dark mask of Gevrey, but its inner energy. Whole-cluster elements, gentle extraction, slow élevage and biodynamic care create a Burgundian language where depth, fragrance and spiritual closeness to soil meet.
