For Connoisseurs: Ch.Pontet Canet Pauillac from Pauillac
Château Pontet-Canet is a renowned Pauillac classified as a fifth growth but often ranked among the region’s top estates. Its vineyards, next to Mouton Rothschild, are farmed organically and biodynamically and planted mainly with cabernet sauvignon plus merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot. The wine delivers intense aromas of cassis, blackberry and dark cherry framed by graphite, violets, cedar and subtle toast. On the palate it is powerful, dense and precise, with firm, ripe tannins and vibrant acidity. Depth and minerality give it outstanding ageing potential and make it an impressive companion for robust meat and game dishes.
