| Blaufrankisch Eisenberg DAC Reserve Ried Szapary from Jalits comes from steep, slate influenced slopes on the Eisenberg and is carefully matured in wooden casks. The bouquet offers dark cherry, blackberry and black currant alongside notes of sloe, sea buckthorn, orange zest and dried herbs. On the palate the wine is dense yet taut, with cool, spicy minerality, ripe berry fruit and firm but fine grained tannins. Lively acidity adds tension and keeps the wine focused. The finish is long, saline and slightly earthy. A distinctive reserve Blaufrankisch that pairs beautifully with game, braised beef, lamb and mature mountain cheese. | |
