Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru from Domaine Faiveley is one of the estate’s most opulent wines, yet it never loses its innate elegance. The bouquet combines dark cherries, small red berries and cassis with floral nuances, gentle spice and hints of toasted oak. On the palate this Pinot Noir is full-bodied, deep and multi-layered, with silky, ripe tannins and lively but beautifully balanced acidity. The structure is powerful without heaviness and carries the intense fruit far into the finish. A great Grand Cru for special occasions, ideal with braised beef, game or mature cheeses. Given time in bottle, it gains further complexity and an even more velvety, seamless texture.
Ageing in French oak with a high proportion of new wood highlights spicy fruit and elegant Grand Cru structure.
