François Lurton-Les Salices

With François Lurton-Les Salices in Languedoc-Roussillon, more precisely in Minervois near the Montagne Noire, a southern French chapter of a great Bordeaux family comes into view. François Lurton, son of André Lurton, founded his own wine venture with his brother Jacques in 1988.

Domaine Les Salices lies between the dark mountain range and the Mediterranean, only about 30 kilometres from the coast. Historic stone buildings and the eleventh-century Romanesque chapel of Saint-Étienne stand among vines, sunshine and drying winds; the wines carry the flexible precision of Pays d’Oc PGI.

The style links varietal knowledge with southern clarity. Chardonnay, Viognier, Pinot Noir and Mediterranean varieties are not staged with weight, but defined through ripeness, air movement and clean vinification. Les Salices feels like an atelier where origin and Lurton curiosity meet.
