Garnacha Blanca / Pedro Ximénez
Garnacha Blanca and Pedro Ximénez are two Spanish white grapes with very different reputations. Garnacha Blanca, also known as Grenache Blanc, produces textured Mediterranean dry whites, while Pedro Ximénez is most famous for intensely sweet Andalusian wines.Where Garnacha Blanca brings pear, herbs and body, Pedro Ximénez can show raisin, fig, date, molasses and spice in sweet styles. Dry versions of Pedro Ximénez also exist, especially in southern Spain, but the classic international image is rich and sweet.
