Jean-François Ganevat
In the Jura, Jean-François Ganevat gives Rotalier one of the most distinctive voices in French natural wine. The family’s winegrowing roots reach back to the seventeenth century, and Jean-François returned to the estate in 1998 after formative years in Burgundy. Small parcels, old vines and biodynamic work provide the foundation. In the cellar, numerous cuvées are shaped from Chardonnay, Savagnin, Poulsard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir, often with long ageing, native fermentations and minimal intervention. The wines unite Jura tradition with Burgundian precision. Ouillé élevage, sous voile, local grapes and micro-terroirs are treated as expressions of place, not fashion. At Vinofant, Ganevat represents craftsmanship, patience and unmistakable regional identity. Each bottling reflects a search for clarity, texture and origin rather than standardised style.
