| Roger Manceaux Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru is crafted from Chardonnay grown in vineyards around Rilly-la-Montagne. Extended ageing on the lees gives the Champagne its fine, persistent stream of bubbles and layered aromas. The bouquet shows citrus, green apple, dried fruit, hay and a touch of mint. On the palate it is taut and mineral yet silky in texture, with vibrant acidity and a clear chalky backbone. The body is medium but the impression is very refined and focused. A long, saline finish makes this Blanc de Blancs an ideal match for oysters, seafood or as a sophisticated aperitif. Served cool in a generous glass, it slowly reveals more layers of citrus and chalky depth. | |
