Pierre Girardin

In Meursault, Burgundy, Pierre Girardin brings thirteen generations of family experience into a distinctly modern domaine. When his father Vincent sold the former estate in 2011, the family retained 4.5 hectares of prized parcels for Pierre-Vincent, who bottled his first vintage in 2017. Long-term agreements with meticulous growers now extend the range across celebrated climats of the Côte de Beaune and other Burgundian sites.

Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are handled to make origin, soil and vintage transparent. The vineyards are farmed organically, with close attention to each parcel. For the whites, Girardin commissioned custom 456-litre barrels to reduce oak influence compared with traditional pièces; the reds are shaped by gentle infusion, generally with little or no pigeage. From village wines to Premier Cru and Grand Cru, Pierre Girardin seeks a finely judged expression of limestone, marl and the individual architecture of each site.
