Scheiblhofer Erich

In Andau in the Neusiedlersee region, Erich Scheiblhofer has shaped a modern Burgenland wine identity built on intense Pannonian warmth and mineral-rich gravel soils. Johann Scheiblhofer started in 1983 with just half a hectare of vines; after a formative year abroad, Erich joined the estate in 1999 and established his own range. The family winery has since grown into a distinctive reference for contemporary Austrian red wine, combining local roots with an outward-looking approach.

About 104 hectares of estate vineyards in prime Andau sites, including Prädium, are complemented by selected parcels across Burgenland. Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir are central to the portfolio, with precise cellar work and extensive barrique ageing defining the house style. Certified sustainable since 2017 and powered by a large photovoltaic system, the estate links technical ambition with responsible viticulture, family continuity and a clear sense of origin.
