Vollenweider Riesling Wolfer Goldgrube Auslese comes from the steep slate terraces of the Wolfer Goldgrube site on the Mosel, where Daniel Vollenweider crafts highly concentrated sweet Rieslings. In the glass it shines golden, with aromas of lemon oil, candied citrus peel, quince, ripe pear and honey. On the palate this Auslese is rich and creamy yet carried by pinpoint acidity, showing flavours of yellow stone fruit, citrus and a hint of herbal tea. The natural sweetness is perfectly balanced by the slate‑driven minerality and stretches into a long, elegant finish. A great, age‑worthy Mosel Riesling that is superb with blue cheese, fruit‑based desserts, foie gras or delicately spicy Asian cuisine.
