Waqar

At Waqar in Chile, in the Tulahuén Valley at the foot of the Andes, pisco is treated not as a commodity spirit but as a distillate of origin. The Camposano family represents several generations of artisanal distillation and works exclusively with Muscat grapes.

Pink Muscat and Muscat of Alexandria are hand-picked, fermented into wine and distilled in small batches. Copper pot stills, wood-fired heat, careful heart cuts and fresh mountain water form the technical foundation, while Chile’s Denominación de Origen gives the spirit its cultural frame.

Waqar remains clear, unadorned and close to its terroir. Neither oak nor sweetness defines it; grape, altitude, dry air and the judgement of master distiller Jaime Camposano do. The result is pisco as a precise expression of Andean landscape and Chilean family tradition.
