Weingut Keller
In Flörsheim-Dalsheim in Rheinhessen, Weingut Keller carries a family history that began in 1789 with Johann Leonhard Keller and the acquisition of the Oberer Hubacker. Ten generations later, the estate combines this foundation with a rigorous focus on individual vineyards. Under Klaus Peter Keller, the limestone hills around Dalsheim and Westhofen moved to the centre of ambitious German winegrowing.Riesling leads the range, supported by Pinot varieties. Hubacker, Kirchspiel, Morstein and Abtserde reveal forms of limestone, clay marl, loess and stony loam, while parcels on the Roter Hang add red slate to the geological spectrum. Hand harvesting and rigorous selection provide pristine fruit; dry wines may receive measured skin contact before pressing. Ambient-yeast fermentation, often prolonged, is followed by élevage in stainless steel or traditional large oak casks. The method avoids spectacle and gives vineyard, vintage and texture the time required to become distinct.
