Weinhof Pfeifer
At Weinhof Pfeifer in St. Anna am Aigen, in Austria’s Vulkanland Steiermark, origin is understood as daily hands-on work. Winegrowing has been present here since the early nineteenth century; today Daniel Pfeifer guides both cellar and vineyards with a clear focus on nature and terroir. The vines grow around Ried Schemming and Annaberg, shaped by volcanic soils, mineral spice, cool nights and the freshness of south-eastern Styrian hills. Vulkanland Steiermark DAC, St. Anna village wines and single-vineyard bottlings form a hierarchy of origin in which Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and regional varieties are precisely placed.
The estate works close to nature, avoiding herbicides and insecticides and relying on careful manual labour. Pfeifer stands for a Styrian wine idea that needs no volume: bright acidity, soil connection, DAC clarity and the calm confidence of a family estate that knows its landscape intimately.
