Wenzel Michael Pinot Gris Voodoo Child Wild & free 2023 0,75l

Michael Wenzel Pinot Gris Voodoo Child Wild & Free is an orange wine from Pinot Gris whose extended skin contact gives it a reddish hue and plenty of power. On the nose it shows crunchy light fruit, wild strawberries and rhubarb alongside citrus zest, floral notes and subtle herbal spice. On the palate Voodoo Child is juicy and gripping, with fine tannins, lively acidity and lots of drinkability. The texture is dense without feeling heavy, while the flavours dance between berries, stone fruit and savoury hints. Spontaneous fermentation and bottling without filtration underline the wine’s natural character. A versatile orange wine from Rust that works brilliantly with spiced dishes, grilled vegetables, cheese boards or simply on its own.

Skin fermentation gives the Pinot Gris more grip, colour and a lively mix of bright fruit and fine herbal spice.

The grape variety: Pinot Gris

Grauburgunder, Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio are names for the same versatile Pinot grape. Typical aromas include pear, apple, citrus, melon, nuts and gentle spice.

It pairs with fish, seafood, poultry, asparagus, mushrooms, creamy pasta and mild cheeses, ranging from crisp aperitif styles to richer food wines.
