Alphart Chardonnay Tagelsteiner 2021 0,75l

Alphart Chardonnay Ried Tagelsteiner originates from a top single vineyard in the Thermenregion with old vines and low yields. The grapes ripen at the foot of the Anninger hill, producing concentrated musts with great aromatic complexity. On the nose it shows ripe yellow fruit, citrus, floral hints and a pronounced mineral character. On the palate the wine is dense and juicy yet precise, with subtle oak spice and a creamy texture. Its long, salty and elegant structure gives it excellent ageing potential and broad gastronomic appeal. A distinctive single-vineyard Chardonnay that captures the Thermenregion terroir in a modern, finely balanced style.

After fermentation in stainless steel, the Chardonnay matures for one year in used barriques and gains structure and subtle oak depth.

Alphart

In Austria’s Thermenregion, Traiskirchen has a white‑wine signature most travellers never learn to pronounce—Rotgipfler and Zierfandler. At Weingut Alphart am Mühlbach, these native grapes aren’t a curiosity; they’re the point. Vines on limestone‑rich soils deliver a salty snap and herbal lift, while breezy sites help the fruit stay clean after rain. The estate works roughly 10 hectares and pairs long family memory—spoken of as 250 years of tradition—with a modern touch: gentle handling, crisp definitions of site, and wines that prize texture over make‑up....

The grape variety: Chardonnay

Chardonnay is a globally renowned white grape from Burgundy, capable of crisp, mineral, creamy or oak-aged styles. Its flavours range from citrus and apple to peach, butter, nuts and toast.

It pairs with seafood, chicken, creamy pasta, mushrooms, lobster and soft cheeses. Chardonnay is exciting because it can be beautifully simple or profoundly complex.
