Bodegas Quitapenas Oro Viejo Malaga 0,75l

This sweet Málaga liqueur wine combines 85 percent Pedro Ximénez with 15 percent Moscatel de Alejandría. Classified as Trasañejo, it matures for five years to develop a concentrated, evolved style. Dynamic ageing through the criaderas and solera system takes place in old casks and draws on long-established base wines. The aroma is intense, recalling toasted nuances, seasoned wood and dark, sweet fruit. On the palate it is full, velvety and deeply flavoured, with the depth associated with traditional Málaga ageing. Subtle nutty and spicy tones enrich its mature sweetness. It pairs beautifully with chocolate, cakes, pastry creams and fruit, as well as strong, well-aged cheese.

The wine ages oxidatively for five years in American oak casks.

After phylloxera forced a move from Axarquía, Francisco Suárez Pineda founded the house in Miraflores del Palo in 1880. A welcoming stop for travellers became one of the city’s historic wine names, now managed by the fifth generation....
