Cachat-Ocquidant’s Beaune Rouge Saint Désir captures the silky, red-fruited charm of the Côte de Beaune. Pinot Noir vines grow on clay and limestone soils around Beaune and are harvested by hand. The bouquet centres on red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant, with hints of violet, forest floor and gentle spice. On the palate the wine is medium-bodied, juicy and precise, with silky tannins and fresh acidity. Fruit remains delicate and playful while subtle clove and a touch of smoke add complexity. The finish is long, elegant and carried by pure red fruit. A classic Beaune Rouge that pairs beautifully with poultry, veal, delicate game or mushroom dishes.
