Casa de la Ermita Jumilla Crianza 2022 0,75l

Casa de la Ermita Crianza is a distinctive red wine from the DO Jumilla in southeastern Spain. The blend is based on Mediterranean varieties such as Monastrell and is aged in oak barrels, which lends the wine structure and complexity. In the glass it displays a deep cherry‑red colour with high intensity and slow‑moving tears. On the nose, aromas of black cherry and plum compote are joined by liquorice, balsamic notes, hints of Mediterranean scrubland, cocoa and spices such as pepper and cinnamon. On the palate, the wine opens with a slightly sweet impression, followed by juicy freshness, generous body and a pronounced core of dark fruit. The tannins are abundant yet ripe and well integrated, giving a texture that is both powerful and smooth. The finish recalls the region’s limestone soils and leaves a long, distinctly Mediterranean aftertaste. It is a perfect partner for grilled meats, hearty stews, lamb dishes and flavourful tapas, and works equally well as an everyday red or for convivial meals centred around robust, savoury food.

More than six months in oak barrels give the dark fruit balsamic spice and a powerful structure.

Casa de la Ermita

On the edge of the Sierra del Carche, where the Jumilla DO relies on stony soils and elevated sites, Casa de la Ermita positions itself as a modern voice of the region. Founded in 1999, the winery thinks in plots: carefully chosen hillside parcels, intense Mediterranean sun, and cooling airflows that help maintain definition rather than over‑ripeness....
