Castelgreve Chianti Classico Riserva represents a richer, more mature expression from the Castelli del Grevepesa cooperative. Produced mainly from Sangiovese and aged for an extended period in wood, it gains depth and complexity before resting further in bottle. The bouquet shows ripe cherries, dark berries, a touch of leather, liquorice, vanilla and savoury spice. On the palate the Riserva is fuller and denser than the regular Chianti, with well-integrated oak, polished yet firm tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long, warm and spicy, recalling red fruit and subtle roasted notes. A fine match for braised meats, game, lamb and mature hard cheeses.

Ageing for 24 months in Slavonian oak gives the Riserva maturity, complexity and an elegant, persistent character.
