M.Chapoutier Saint Joseph blanc Les Granits 2023 0,75l

M. Chapoutier Saint-Joseph Blanc Les Granits is a single-site marsanne from old vines rooted directly in fractured granite. Biodynamically farmed parcels yield tiny crops of intensely ripe grapes. The nose offers yellow fruits, pear and melon alongside toasted grain, almond, citrus zest and smoky, flinty mineral notes. On the palate Les Granits is medium to full-bodied, round and concentrated, with juicy fruit wrapped in chiselled, limestone-like freshness. A long, salty and slightly bitter finish underlines its impressive ageing potential. This layered white is a superb partner for fine fish, shellfish, poultry, veal and mature soft cheeses.

Lees ageing brings harmony and mineral depth; the exact number of months is documented only as a range.

M.Chapoutier

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....

The grape variety: Marsanne

Marsanne is a Rhône white grape that produces full-bodied wines with pear, almond, honeyed notes and a rounded, sometimes waxy texture.

It is especially appealing with roast poultry, seafood in creamy sauces, mushrooms and mature cheeses. Marsanne
