M.Chapoutier Condrieu Invitare 2023 0,75l

M. Chapoutier Condrieu Invitare is a pure viognier from steep granite terraces on the right bank of the northern Rhône. The vines draw their character from poor, stony soils that bring tension and minerality. After fermentation, a portion of the wine is aged on fine lees in barrels and demi-muids to build texture and complexity. The nose is very fruity, with exotic notes of pineapple and lychee alongside apricot, white peach, acacia blossom and a touch of smoke. On the palate Invitare is round, full and creamy, supported by refreshing acidity and a gentle hint of vanilla on the finish. It is an excellent partner for fine fish, shellfish, white meats, creamy pasta and flavourful vegetable dishes.

Ageing on fine lees with a wood component gives the Viognier fullness, aromatic depth and a creamy texture.

M.Chapoutier

In Northern Rhône, the Maison M. Chapoutier has shaped the Côtes du Rhône Nord since 1808—then rewrote its modern chapter in 1990 when Michel Chapoutier took the helm. Biodynamic farming, living soils and meticulous parcel work define their steep slopes from Hermitage to Saint‑Joseph and Cornas, on granite, rolled stones and clay‑limestone seams....

The grape variety: Viognier

Viognier is an aromatic white grape known for apricot, peach, blossom, spice and a rounded, silky palate. Its classic home is Condrieu in the northern Rhône.

The variety is appealing because it feels generous and fragrant without needing sweetness. Pair it with roast poultry, scallops, prawns, creamy dishes and gently spiced cuisine. Viognier
