Château Guiraud

In Sauternes‑Barsac, where morning mist and autumn light set the tempo for noble rot, Château Guiraud stands as a Premier Grand Cru Classé of 1855—tradition with a distinctly modern conscience.

After Pierre Guiraud acquired the estate in 1766, it grew into a benchmark for great sweet Bordeaux, navigating centuries of change while holding a steady line on precision. Biodiversity has been a stated commitment since 1996, and organic certification followed in 2011. Sémillon brings breadth, Sauvignon Blanc draws the line; grapes are picked in successive tries, vinified with restraint and raised in barrel.

Guiraud is less about sweetness than equilibrium: patient handwork, living soils and the belief that great Sauternes happens only when nature’s timing and human decisions meet—exactly, and repeatedly.
