Château Larrivet Haut-Brion Pessac-Léognan blanc 2020 0,75l

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion lies in the southern part of Pessac-Léognan on gravelly soils mixed with sand and clay over a limestone base. Around eight to eleven hectares are dedicated to white grapes, planted mainly with Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon plus a small proportion of Muscadelle. The vines average about twenty years of age and each plot is harvested separately at optimum ripeness. In the cellar, part of the must ferments in barrel and part in stainless steel, before ageing on fine lees to build creaminess and texture. The bouquet offers grapefruit, lime and yellow stone fruit alongside exotic notes, delicate wood spice and floral hints. On the palate Larrivet Haut-Brion Blanc is juicy, precise and subtly saline, with bright acidity and a smooth, layered mouthfeel. A long, elegant finish confirms its standing as a distinctive, characterful dry white from Pessac-Léognan.

Eleven months on the lees in the same wooden vessels used for fermentation give the Blanc texture and a salty, mineral tension.
