Château Ripeau Saint Emilion 1996 0,75l

Château Ripeau is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé located on a slightly elevated plateau in the north-west of the appellation. The vines grow on sandy, lightly gravelly soils with iron-rich subsoils and are planted mainly with merlot and cabernet franc. The bouquet offers dark berries, sweet cherry, floral notes, licorice and a touch of chocolate. On the palate the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with ripe, elegant tannins and refreshing acidity. Fruit and spice linger on the finish together with subtle smoky nuances. It is a characterful Saint-Émilion that pairs beautifully with lamb, beef, poultry and substantial vegetable dishes.
