Domaine de La Bégude Bandol rouge 2016 1,5l

Domaine de La Bégude sits around 400 metres above sea level at the top of the Bandol appellation, overlooking the Bay of La Ciotat. Certified organic vineyards. The bouquet offers dark cherry, blackberry and red berry fruit wrapped in notes of pepper, liquorice, dried herbs and earthy spice. On the palate the wine is powerful and compact yet precise, with firm, ripe tannins and a refreshing, salty streak of minerality. Extended maceration and traditional ageing bring depth, savoury complexity and a long, slightly smoky finish. A distinctive, ageworthy Bandol red that pairs beautifully with roast lamb, slow-braised beef, game dishes and richly seasoned Mediterranean vegetables.

The Bandol ages for 18 months in oak barrels, developing a structured, spicy and age-worthy style.
