Domaine des Sénéchaux Chateauneuf du Pape rouge 2020 0,75l

The red Châteauneuf du Pape from Domaine des Sénéchaux impressively showcases the power and spicy depth of the southern Rhône. The cuvée of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre comes from old vines and is matured partly in concrete vats and partly in wooden barrels. On the nose it offers ripe dark cherries and berries, supported by notes of Provençal herbs, liquorice and subtle roasted aromas. On the palate the wine is dense and juicy, with ripe fruit, well-structured tannins and a long, savoury finish. The balance between richness and freshness gives it elegance and a very harmonious mouthfeel. This red is a fine partner for lamb, braised beef, game dishes and mature hard cheeses. Thanks to its ageing potential it is as enjoyable now as it is suitable for keeping for special occasions.

Twelve months in foudres, old barriques and concrete tanks give the Châteauneuf depth, complexity and harmonious structure.

The grape variety: Grenache

Grenache, also called Garnacha or Garnatxa, produces warm, fruit-driven red wines with raspberry, strawberry, spice, soft tannins and Mediterranean character.

It pairs with lamb, grilled meats, tapas, vegetable stews, barbecue and herb-rich dishes, and is also central to many GSM blends. Grenache
