Vines rooted in deep gravel soils benefit from stored daytime heat, giving ripe tannins and a cool, graphite-like minerality. The bouquet layers blackcurrant, dark berries and sour cherry with cedar, tobacco, spice, forest floor and a gentle smoky note. On the palate the wine is dense, precise and multi-layered, with fine, firm tannins, lively acidity and an elegant, linear frame. As it matures it gains truffle, leather and cedar nuances while retaining freshness and lift.
