Château Malartic Lagravière Pessac Léognan rouge gcc. 2021 0,75l
Château Malartic-Lagravière is a rare Grand Cru Classé de Graves in Léognan, set on a high gravel hill with limestone- and clay-based subsoils. The red comes from about 46 hectares planted in equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, plus smaller shares of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Under the Bonnie family the estate is farmed sustainably, with careful parcel selection, gentle extraction and long ageing in French oak. The bouquet offers blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, wrapped in graphite, tobacco, violets and discreet toast. On the palate the wine is dense yet silky, with vibrant freshness, finely honed tannins and a long, precise, mineral finish.
On the gravel‑and‑sand soils of Pessac‑Léognan, where vineyards meet the edge of the pine forest, Château Malartic‑Lagravière has shaped its identity since the 18th century. Grand Cru Classé de Graves, it is among the rare estates classified in 1953 for both red and white wines—a quiet testimony to the breadth of its terroir....
The Great Vertical Tasting: A wine through the mirror of time.
Anyone who compares wine across several vintages discovers its development in a particularly impressive way. A vertical tasting reveals how style, maturity, structure and aromas change over time – and helps to find the right vintage for personal taste or a special occasion.
The grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet Sauvignon is a world-famous red grape producing dark, structured wines with cassis, blackberry, cedar, firm tannins and ageing potential.
The variety is exciting because it combines power with recognisable character. Pair Cabernet Sauvignon with steak, roast beef, lamb, venison, burgers, mushrooms and hard cheeses.
