Château Malartic Lagravière Pessac Léognan rouge gcc. 2016 0,75l

Château Malartic-Lagravière is a rare Grand Cru Classé de Graves in Léognan, set on a high gravel hill with limestone- and clay-based subsoils. The red comes from about 46 hectares planted in equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, plus smaller shares of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Under the Bonnie family the estate is farmed sustainably, with careful parcel selection, gentle extraction and long ageing in French oak. The bouquet offers blackcurrant, blackberry and plum, wrapped in graphite, tobacco, violets and discreet toast. On the palate the wine is dense yet silky, with vibrant freshness, finely honed tannins and a long, precise, mineral finish.

Eighteen months ageing on the fine lees in French oak barrels bring depth, complexity and finely integrated toasted notes.

Château Malartic Lagravière

Grand Cru Classé de Graves, it is among the rare estates classified in 1953 for both red and white wines—a quiet testimony to the breadth of its terroir....
