Les Hauts de Smith Blanc is the white second wine of Château Smith Haut Lafitte in Pessac-Léognan. Produced entirely from Sauvignon Blanc and partly aged in oak, it marries aromatic intensity with freshness. The nose exudes flowers, grapefruit, lime leaf, white peach, mango, guava and a discreet touch of honey and vanilla. On the palate it is medium-bodied, juicy and bright, with citrus and stone fruit wrapped in a subtle herbal and saline edge. A chalky, mouthwatering finish invites another sip. This versatile Bordeaux white pairs beautifully with fish, shellfish and flavourful vegetable dishes.
According to the source, this white wine is aged with roughly half new oak barrels, combining fresh citrus notes with a mineral, chalky line.
