El Coto de Imaz Reserva Selección Viñedos is crafted from the estate’s finest Tempranillo parcels in Rioja Alavesa and the high-altitude Finca Los Almendros. Extended ageing in oak and bottle results in a complex, layered Rioja. The bouquet delivers ripe red and dark fruit, plum and cherry, together with vanilla, cocoa, toasted notes and subtle spice. On the palate it is full-bodied and silky yet firmly structured, with ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a long, savoury, spice-tinged finish. A classic, age-worthy Reserva that pairs beautifully with roast meats, game and mature cheeses. It can comfortably evolve in bottle for many years while gaining further complexity.
Eighteen months in new American oak barriques followed by bottle ageing bring sweet spice, cocoa and ripe fruit into an elegant Reserva structure.
