Aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum are joined by notes of licorice, herbs and gentle smokiness. On the palate the wine is medium- to full-bodied, with firm yet ripe tannins, fresh acidity and a cool, mineral finish. It is an ageworthy, elegant Saint-Estèphe that pairs beautifully with braised dishes, roast beef, lamb and savoury meat cuisine. With a few years of bottle age, its texture becomes even more velvety and complex. | |
