For connoisseurs: Ch.Suduiraut Sauternes from Sauternes Barsac
Château Suduiraut in Sauternes has been classified Premier Cru Classé since 1855 and ranks among the leading names in sweet Bordeaux. On warm, gravelly soils around the château grow mostly sémillon and sauvignon blanc, grapes that develop noble rot and great concentration. The wine shows aromas of acacia honey, apricot, candied orange, dried fruits and roasted notes from barrel ageing. On the palate it is opulent, creamy and layered, yet lifted by vibrant acidity that keeps it precise. The long, silky sweetness feels luxurious rather than heavy. A classic match for foie gras, blue cheese, fruit desserts or simply enjoyed on its own at the end of a meal.
