| November Rain Morillon from Ewald Zweytick is a powerful Chardonnay from southern Styria that spends many months maturing in barriques. The bouquet combines ripe yellow fruit, a hint of pineapple and stone fruit with notes of vanilla, toasted oak and a touch of smoke. On the palate the wine is dense, silky and concentrated, carried by fine acidity and a cool, chalky minerality. Extended barrel ageing adds depth, texture and a complex interplay of fruit, spice and subtle wood tones. Despite all its richness the Morillon remains precise and elegant. A characterful white for lovers of Burgundian style, perfect with fine fish, shellfish, poultry or creamy pasta dishes. | |
